Some recent posts on the matter.

StlRecruiting: Free Job Postings are Up
In St. Louis, I launched a series of sites that allow recruiters to post all of their jobs for free on jobs blogs. I will roll these out to other cities as I measure its success, but the point is to show recruiters they don't have to pay for job boards and can create their own.
What is the future of posting? I think it will lie in recruitment marketing - putting jobs up on your site or on a board was made easy with the internet - but how do you get targeted responses? You join communities of the people you want to hire. And in those communities, the postings can be free.
