The round-up on the Jobster affair has yet to be written, but at the beginning of the year, Jobster, the Seattle Web 2.0 employment start-up layed off 60 people from around the company in an attempt to refocus their sales strategy.
There has been a lot of sturm and drang on the affair from the recruiting blogosphere, but today Jobster CEO Jason Goldberg publicly announced a commitment to stand by former employees in their new job search, going so far as to offer the current employee directory up on the jobster site for people to use for reference for future employment.
He also dares headhunters to poach those that are still employed, which is a strong vote of confidence in the rest of the staff, and makes the comments that this layoff was not performance based, but strategic, carry a lot more weight.

It's an extraordinary chance for other companies to get some excellent talent. If you are looking to hire internet-savvy workers that are expert in employment, you better throw your hat in the post. I think these folks will move fast.
